Before you answer, take a moment to think about what each relationship style means. Once you understand them, you might find that you fit into one or even more of these styles.
- Secure Attachment Style
People with a secure attachment style are comfortable expressing their needs and feelings. They feel stable and trusting with their partner. They also feel okay spending time apart, doing things on their own, without feeling insecure. This is a healthy and balanced way of being in a relationship. - Avoidant Attachment Style
If you have an avoidant attachment style, you value your independence and might push others away because you’re afraid of being rejected. You may act like you don’t need a partner, even though deep down, you might want a connection. This style can make it hard to fully open up to others. - Anxious Attachment Style
People with an anxious attachment style often feel clingy and need a lot of reassurance from their partner. They worry about being abandoned or left alone, so they may seek constant validation that everything is okay in the relationship. - Disorganized Attachment Style
A disorganized attachment style is a mix of wanting closeness but also fearing it. People with this style can be confused in relationships, moving between wanting intimacy and pushing it away. It often leads to a “run and chase” pattern in relationships, creating a lot of uncertainty.
Which Relationship Style Are You?

It’s normal to experience different styles in different relationships, whether with a partner, friend, or even at work. Understanding your relationship style is the first step to making better connections and improving how you relate to others.
